Whether you’re a newbie homeschooler like me or a seasoned one with years of portfolio on your belt, you need to go to this year’s Philippine Homeschool Conference: READY FOR THE WORLD on October 17, 2015 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura and the SMX Convention Center in Taguig. c”,)
I’m really excited to attend this event because this is the first homeschool conference that my husband and I will go to! c”,) It’s also very timely as we’re about to enroll Timmy with a homeschool provider this coming school year. I can’t believe I have a kindergarten student in my house!
Everything you need to know about the event is in the above poster. But I want to take this time to share with you three reasons why I’m going to this conference and hopefully, in the process, inspire you to go as well. c”,)
I need to be equipped.
As a parent educator, I owe it to my son to be trained and equipped for my teaching responsibilities. I need to learn when to put on my teaching hat and when to shift to my mommy hat. I also need to be updated about the latest education trends and techniques. Conferences like these provide practical homeschooling tips that will greatly help first timers like me. c”,)
I need to be empowered.
Listening to experts, knowing the latest homeschooling news (and stats), and learning from fellow parent educators will boost my confidence and empower me to continue in this homeschooling journey (it’s not a walk in the park all the time!). Even if it’s just a one-day conference, these homeschooling pros have a wealth of information and experience that every homeschooling parent will benefit from. c”,)
I need to be encouraged.
Seeing and connecting with fellow homeschooling parents can be very encouraging. Our weekly homeschool coop inspires me as I see other moms’ commitment to educating their children. This homeschooling conference will give me the chance to meet other teacher mommas that are part of our Facebook groups “Homeschoolers of the Philippines” and “Homeschooling the Early Years (Philippines).” Most of all, I look forward to their success stories. c”,)
Homeschooling is like taking the road less traveled. But just like what Robert Frost said it “has made all the difference.” Our preschool year so far has been amazing. We’re very relaxed and by God’s grace alone, my son is learning really well. It has been a blessing to witness him read his first words, write his first letters, compose his first sentence, experience his first experiment, and many other firsts. c”,)
Mark your calendars on October 17, 2015 and be READY FOR THE WORLD!
