Christmas is almost here and we’re excited to prepare for the best holiday of the year! Hey, it rhymes! Haha! 🙂 I still can’t believe that 2016 is almost done. It seems like we just got started and now we’re a month away from Christmas. Before you know it, 2017 is here! So to kick off the holiday festivities, we’ve decided to do some easy DIY Christmas cards!
This idea just came out of the blue after I saw that we had lots of leftover paint from our Solar System painting (will blog about it next time). Since Timmy wanted to paint some more, I gave a thick paper from my sketch pad and asked him to paint slanting lines of red and green. He used three shades of green (i.e. green, yellow green, and blue green) to add more hues to his cards. 🙂
We then allowed the paper dry before I cut it into small cards! 🙂 Since we’re really going to use them for our Christmas gifts, I decided to do the cutting myself to make sure they’re all straight. Haha! The end product looked really nice! Timmy will paint more in the coming days and try different patterns like maybe swirls or wavy lines. 🙂 My favorite part in this activity was listening to Timmy sing non-stop while painting! Haha! Must be so therapeutic for him!
There you have it! Done with the first batch! Yay! 🙂 I love the bold brush strokes! I’m excited to see how the other cards will turn out! Still thinking what Christmas decor we can put up in our tiny space. Last year we made a nativity scene out of tissue rolls. Will share it with you as soon as we’ve come up with something!
What DIY Chrismas crafts have you done or are you planning to do this year? I’d love to hear from you! 🙂
